I called Abacus at 10:30 on Friday morning before the snow storm was coming into Austin. The electric fireplace was not working and I was concerned about potential loss of power over the weekend. Both an electrician and a plumber showed up and they waited to make sure that the the fireplace was working before they left. They were very professional and took a real interest in getting the job done. We are VIP members and they informed us about their services they provide which are included in the membership. I was so pleased that we were taken care of the same day that I called. If no work was necessary there was not to be a charge for giving a quote for repair. Repair was necessary and it was fixed within a reasonable time frame. Thank you, Abacus for the pleasant experience. ~ Marilyn C

I had an AC outage and Abacus was able to come out quickly to get me repaired and back up and running. The technician Nick was provided tremendous customer service and was very professional. He arrived on time and was amazing with his quick diagnosis. He walked me through all the details of his diagnosis and repair recommendations. He presented me with several options and allowed me to weigh the pros and cons of each one in a very fair manner. Never did I feel pressured to selecting the most expensive option and I really liked that about the technicians on site. I really appreciated his ability to get me repaired and honest opinion on best path forward that will help this house cool. I couldn’t recommend this company more for your HVAC needs. ~ Travis T

Editing to add a new experience We had another great experience with Abacus, this time with Teddy. Teddy showed up on time, very polite, and very helpful. I showed him the main issue we were having with a toilet, and he immediately provided multiple solutions for us to choose from. While he was here, he gave us free estimates for other things around the house I asked him to look at. He came back the next day and had our new toilet installed in less than an hour. Another excellent experience and will continue using Abacus. Terrific experience with Omid. He explained what was causing the drain, gave me my options (including prices) for cleaning the drain, and clean the drain immediately. He was polite from start to finish. This is my first experience with Abacus Air Conditioning repair. The whole experience was great from beginning to end. Martha took the call and set the expectation of the technician being at my place within 4 hours. She encouraged me to review their website for discounts. I found one for new clients. The Technician was here within two hours. I received a picture of him prior to arrival. Deandre was very professional and courteous. He provided quotes for labor needed. He also, provided before and after photos. His quote was exact and to the penny and no other fees were charged. The A/C problem is resolved and working great! Abacus has been my go to plumber for the last year now. They installed a new tankless water heater, repaired shower cartridges, and repaired valves to ensure I'm receiving proper pressure from the city line. They are all considerate and friendly and work hard to find solutions. My recent experience with Sean Sedia was a great example. For some reason, our water heater was not providing sufficiently hot water. Sean came out and attempted to diagnose the issue with the manufacturer. After many attempts and back and forth with the manufacturer, it was Sean to identified the issue (a $9 part had failed) and got our system up and running. He was very persistent in his attempts to solve our issue and did not give up. Very appreciative of the plumbers and Abacus team. Thank you Sean. ~ Alex Y

I cant rave enough about Abacus. This is the second job they have done at our residence. Their team start to finish is timely, professional, and polite. Compared to some other service industry competitors in the Austin area, Abacus is head and shoulders above them. Today a small hiccup and road bump in our work. It was unbelievable how quickly, professionally, and responsive their whole team was. They fixed the issue that was 1 in a million and it was done right. I will have their team back to my house for any issues with HVAC plumbing or electrical. In a market where too many up charge and give attitude because its Austin and they can, Abacus is different. And for any or all of these reasons, they will continue to get my business over the others. ~ Dave K

This was the first time using Abacus. My husband called in the later part of the evening and VOILA...there was Hunter on the phone calling us first thing in the morning the next day sharing he would arrive in about 30 mins. He arrived on time and was an absolute delight, a professional and fixed everything with ease! We will definitely ask for Hunter if we have any other plumbing needs! Plus we will contact Abacus NOW, that we have had an exceptional experience (GREAT ONE), for some of our electrical needs, but that will have to wait till this fall. We had a major electrical problem and called Abacus Electric, they came out the very next day and tried to fix the problem, Matthew Hicks was unable to after searching for hours. He required additional help to trace and find the problem. They ended up working for two days in order to find the problem and get it fixed, but not once did they act like they were upset about being there so long and working so late. They were very professional and diligent. I was worried that it would cost a lot because they had to come two days and spent so many hours working on this problem, but the price was reasonable. I am very satisfied. I want to say thank Matthew Hicks, Josh Lerma and the other gentleman that was with you, sorry I didn't get your name. We appreciate your service. ~ Rosalie B

Abacus was great, they handled a full replacement of 3 separate heating and A/C systems in my home. Daniel, who advised us on the replacement options after he inspected our old system, was also involved in the installation, and is just fantastic, he is extremely professional and conscientious, and a great communicator. I’ve never had someone explain systems and various options in that level of detail so clearly and patiently. Joe managed the team behind the install behind the scenes but came by multiple times to be sure everything was on track and he was just great. I especially appreciated the final tuning, air flow analysis, and walk through of the systems both Daniel and Joe gave us after everything was installed. The service options and long warranty are great as well. ~ John S

A few months back we had an estimate for some AC duct work to improve comfort in one part of our home and were qouted a price. Well we finally got around to getting it complete. Today the 2 man crew showed up to start our project. A few minutes after starting they asked to talk to us. They informed us part of the work we had been qouted was unnecessary. They explained the reasoning and how the other part of the project would achieve the same results. This really impressed me and my husband with their honesty. Their honesty really shows they work for a company who is there to genuinely help their customers and not just to make a buck. This saved us from spending unnecessary money. My 20-year-old tankless water heater started delivering hot water with sporadic gaps of cold water. I contacted Abacus using their online service request site. Within the day I was scheduled for a visit by a technician in the following week. The technician gave me status updates about his time of arrival and he arrived on time. He was polite and very knowledgeable and gave me options for troubleshooting, repair, or replacement. Due to the age of my heater, I opted to have it replaced and he scheduled installation for two days later. The installers arrived on time. They also were very polite and respectful of my house and within 3 hours had removed and replaced the heater. They installed it according to code. Everything works perfectly and I am very happy the entire process. ~ Ted D

ABACUS came by for some plumbing work. The technician Dion was great. Very professional and explained things as he was completing the work. Very reassuring and knowledgeable you could tell he did a high quality job. ABACUS was great to work with. In a recent service call I had one of my air conditioners stop responding to the thermostat. ABACUS came out and did a thorough job of trouble shooting. It required new wiring so they temporarily put in an external wire to get things working. Installation team came back in a couple days to install the permanent fix. They did a great job! We bought the units from them and they stand by their work. They’ve alway been professional and trustworthy. I would recommend them for any HVAC, plumbing, and electrical work. ~ Bill A

Started our semi-annual HVAC service / tune up today, and Nik was incredibly professional and friendly. System isn't new by any means and is showing various signs of expected and unexpected wear and tear, so he walked us through the good news, bad news, options and recommendations. I'm glad we reached out proactively, and am looking forward to using Abacus for the foreseeable future. Follow up: replaced our AC unit, and Erick and Carlos were absolutely great. We were working at home and they were there for the majority of the day but we barely knew they were there. Took the time to show me all the work they did in the attic and around the condenser, made sure everything was working as planned, and cleaned up so you wouldn't know they were even there... ~ Tex P

Our tankless water heater had stopped producing hot water when we returned from trip on Saturday. I called Abacus and they scheduled a repair technician to come Monday. Isaac arrived at noon and determined the unit had shut down. He restarted unit and then made certain hot water was flowing to all areas of house. He explained how the unit worked, reasons it could have shut down, made recommendations going forward. He was very professional, thorough in his explanations, including pricing and scheduling options should we want to replace our unit which is now 18 yrs old. We appreciated Abacus’s quick response and resolution to our issue. We highly recommend them for all plumbing repairs due to their professionalism, quick response, and integrity! ~ Karen F

I've used Abacus to change out my garbage disposal and this time around it was for our water heater. Both experiences have been great. Our water heater stopped working on Thursday evening, I called that same evening and I was able to have an appt scheduled for Friday morning. Teddy Linnell came out, assessed the situation and we were fortunately able to install a new water heater that same morning. He was kind, informative, clean and best of all, he didn't wake up my sleeping toddler while doing his work hahaha. Honestly, I haven't had a bad experience, I feel their pricing is reasonable and they are a quick turn around. I'll be reaching out to them to replace my electrical panel (whenever I'm able to save up the money). ~ Marli E

Abacus and their technician Pedro were an absolute pleasure to deal with. I was kept informed via emails and texts of the appointment date and time, as well as when Pedro was on his way and at his arrival. In the process of the requested yearly gas furnace inspection he was very gracious, informative, and knowledgeable about our system, what he was going to perform and afterwards, what he had done with pictures to back it all up. He took his time doing the job and in explaining everything in detail. His care and professionalism was demonstrated in so many ways, even to the point where he put protective covering over his shoes to walk three feet into our house to look at the thermostat. He then emailed his report and the pictures he took for me to have on record. I will use Abacus again and definitely request Pedro to be our tech. ~ David L

ABACUS Plumbing truly came to our rescue during a last minute issue in the middle of our kitchen remodel. They were responsive, professional, and quick to get someone out when timing really mattered, which immediately took a lot of stress off our plates. Technician Jared Melton was outstanding. He clearly knew his stuff and worked efficiently and was clearly focused on doing the job right, not just getting it done fast. He was calm, respectful of our home, and incredibly professional, just exactly the kind of person you hope shows up when things are already stressful. Overall, we were extremely happy with the experience from start to finish. ABACUS delivered when it counted, and Jared is a huge asset to their team. Called ABACUS to come check out the lost of water pressure and possible leak underneath the slab. Dustin was the first technician to come check out for my water pressure issue, he was very helpful and informative. Dustin and tech checked prices for other work and we saw ABACUS had discount for sewer cleaning. Told him I would like the service. Andres Barriosnueva came out and provided the service, he suggested we did a scope to see if we had a sewer issue. Andre was very informative. Scheduled that service and Donald came out to provide the borescope service. Donald was very informative and provided a quote for a service. ABACUS team was very informative and helpful. Abacus' website is state of the art. I was able to upload a video of my issue and schedule my appointment all online. Abacus called me 30 minutes before My technician arrived and provided a picture of My technician so I would know who to expect. My technician arrived during the requested timeframe. He was in and out in less than an hour. I did not get charged for a diagnostic as he was already aware of the issue from the video I uploaded. The parts were under warranty so my technician walked me through how to order the parts and will back next week when they arrive to install them. He was very knowledgeable about the situation and walked me through everything. I will definitely be using them again. ~ Olivia M

I have to say from my first contact with the company through the customer service representative Tinasha to my appointment with David. Abacus is a first rate company. Tina's, made me feel like family even though we have never met. She told me she was going to take care of me and she did. When David first called I was at the tire shop and not home. He offered to go grab some lunch to give me time to get home to meet him which I really appreciated. He called me after his lunch and asked if I was ready I told him I was. David, explained things so well to a non technical non mechanical person like myself it was easy to understand what he was doing. A/C unit was going out so we were shopping around Kathryn came by to assess our situation. She did a great job of listening to what our concerns were and providing an option that best fit our needs. No high pressure tactics, just good honest information. Well done Kathryn I had Jose and his team come out to do my HVAC install. The detail Of their work was top notch, the unit inside and outside looked very clean and you could tell they take great pride in their work. They wore booties and put down cloth to protect our carpet while working which was appreciated. I appreciated them taking the time to explain the outside and inside unit to me in a way I could understand. Highly recommend Jose !! ~ greg s

Omid, was professional and personable. He explained everything in detail and in words understandable to the layman. My kitchen sink is back up and draining better than ever. Great experience with Abacus! We had Jason run the crew to update wiring, panels, recessed lighting and outlets/switches in our older home after purchasing. The team worked through our house quickly making these updates and encountered a number of odd situations where old wiring was done in a less than ideal way, Jason quickly identified and was able to troubleshoot solutions to these and correct. Big shout out to Jacob, Brad and Trey who were professional, friendly and went well beyond to ensure everything was perfect. Highly recommend the team at Abacus and we will absolutely call them for any future electrical needs. 1yr later we had Matthew out for a regular inspection and check of electrical.
